Today in the automotive class, the group discussed old and new car designs.  Specifically, they talked about Ferrari and the three brothers: Carlo, Ram Brand and Bugatti.  Carlo made very odd shaped furniture with various types of material, Ram Brand made animal sculptures and Bugatti made car designs. The designs mainly focused on geometry while others reflected nature. The class compared new and old car designs with pictures, they showed how new cars still have their signature design.

All car designers and car brands were in competition with each other. For instance, Ford was in competition with Ferrari and made the Mustang Shelby to compete with Ferrari’s top car. Students learned that old cars were shaped with wood and steel pipes and then covered with metal that was hammered down over it.

MINDDRIVE will use LED lights on the contemporary Lola car. The Wednesday night class is learning how to use LED lights and put them together. The brightness of the LED lights is much more intense than regular lights, and MINDDRIVE is able to reduce the wattage needed for cars.

Meanwhile, today in the communications class students wrote about what Christmas means to them. They shared what they had written and discussed their ideas with the class. Then, students and some of the mentors learned about the Pebble watch. The Pebble is a new technology you sync with your smartphone, use as a watch, and get notifications from your phone. There is always something new coming out with technology and the students love to learn about them.

Lastly, Andrew instructed us on how to use the new and older cameras. He taught us how to use different settings and focus. There should be no more issues with focus!
